Isack Hadjar is gearing up for his debut season at Red Bull Racing, and he's confident about his chances.
## What's at Stake?
The 21-year-old French driver will be competing against teammate Max Verstappen, a four-time world champion.
Hadjar has shown his strength by qualifying third for the Australian Grand Prix.
## The Challenge Ahead
Verstappen has gone through four teammates in about 15 months, with Sergio Pérez saying being Verstappen's teammate is “the worst job there is in Formula 1.”
Pérez was dropped at the end of 2024 with two years left in his contract.
## Hadjar's Confidence
Hadjar is putting the off-track talk aside, saying the team is set to surprise everyone with the pace of the RB22 car.
“I would say I’m confident in our race car, what we can do in the race, a bit less probably on one lap pace," Hadjar told The Associated Press.
## The Team's Strength
Hadjar was impressed by the competitiveness of Red Bull’s new power unit, an endlessly complex technical project.
“I was very happily surprised with the reliability and driveability of the engine,” Hadjar said.
Hadjar came back from an embarrassing formation lap crash on debut during last year’s Australian GP to score points at 10 of 24 races.
He will also benefit from having the same team boss, Laurent Mekies, who made the step from Racing Bulls to replace Christian Horner at Red Bull last year.
Hadjar moved from Faenza, Italy to London to be closer to Red Bull Racing’s Milton Keyes operation.
He'll need all the help he can get to take on Verstappen in the same team.
And Hadjar is confident and looking forward to the challenge.
“I’m just happy, at my age, to be able to see what it’s like to be next to the best driver on the grid," Hadjar said.
He expects to win a race in his first season with the team.
The Australian Grand Prix is set to take place on Sunday at Albert Park in Melbourne.
Hadjar's performance will be closely watched, given his impressive debut season.
The 21-year-old French driver has already shown his strength and determination.
And he's ready to take on the challenge of competing against Verstappen.
So, it's going to be an exciting season for Hadjar and Red Bull Racing.
But Hadjar is focused on the task at hand, and he's not getting distracted by the hype.
He's just happy to be able to compete at the highest level.
And he's lucky to have the opportunity to learn from Verstappen.
The Australian Grand Prix will be a crucial test for Hadjar and Red Bull Racing.
And it will be interesting to see how they perform.
Hadjar's debut season is set to be an exciting one, with many challenges ahead.
But he's ready for it, and he's confident about his chances.
The future looks bright for Isack Hadjar and Red Bull Racing.
