Isack Hadjar, the 20-year-old Formula One rookie, crashed on the formation lap in Australia on March 20.
What happened?
He spun out at Turn 2 and crashed into the barrier, unable to take part in the race.
Isack Hadjar was visibly upset after getting out of his car, but was greeted by Anthony Hamilton in the paddock.
Why it matters for Isack Hadjar
Lewis Hamilton, his racing idol, sent him a private message showing support, which Hadjar described as a "nice moment".
Anthony Hamilton told Hadjar that his crash reminded him of when Lewis went off and beached his car in the gravel in Shanghai in 2007.
What comes next?
Isack Hadjar brushed off comments from Red Bull's motorsport advisor, Helmut Marko, who called his tearful reaction "a bit embarrassing".
Hadjar said he found the comments embarrassing himself, but had spoken to Marko on the phone and everything was fine.
He also appreciated the love from fans and people after the crash, which he did not expect.
Lewis Hamilton later told reporters that he had spoken to Hadjar on the drivers' parade and insisted they take a photo to mark both the Frenchman's F1 debut and his own first race for Ferrari.
Hamilton said he told Hadjar to enjoy the race and not put too much pressure on himself.
The photo was taken before Hadjar's crash, which Hamilton knew would be tough for the young driver.
Hamilton said it's important to have people to talk to in those moments, which is why he reached out to Hadjar.
